Tiempo Relativo - Internal Project
Media | Social
2022 | 4 weeks
As an internal project within Tiempo Relativo, the company decided to test the potential of the combination of two trendy No-Code Tools such as Xano (backend) and Appgyver (frontend). My teammate and I were given a deadline of a month, in which we'd have to design and develop an app where you could share movies and tv series' recomendations with your friends.
The Goal was to test the agility and outcome of using No-Code Tools to build MVPs in a short period of time
We took the first week to do a little desk research. The given brief was very thorough, so we had a lot of information to work with. This allowed us to think about two main personas that would be using the app and throughout the desk research and a benchmark based on competitors and functionalities, we decided on one of the personas to start designing. The main functionalities were selected via Empathy Map and a Big Idea activities.
The idea was to create a private social network. A place were you connect with friends with similar movie taste, where you can get an easy, friendly and trustworthy recommendation instead of spending time looking around for a movie to watch.
By the end of the first week we had a prototype designed on Figma and we developed a functional document. This documentation hold every interaction and automated actions on and off screen that we'd had to go through and develop later on combining Xano and Appgiver. (Such as: log in and sign up logic, databases API requests...)
The prototype was tested with the company employees and with a few adjustments we started developing.
During the next three weeks we worked on the develop of the app using Appgyver and Xano. We found about the constrains of combining this two tools and learn about the mistakes made while writing the functional documentation (which made us develop a new and more agile functional documentation template to use on forthcoming projects). This gave us the oportunity to understand and study the point of union between design and developing teams and the value of thinking and designing everything wether is on the screen or not.
The MVP was ready and uploaded to the Play Store within 4 weeks in which our team grew on learnings and experience. A new and improved version of the app is now on developing.
