01. My story and some context

I’ve always been a design geek and I think that’s why I studied Architecture, a field where design is brought through technique and constructions methods along with a strong visual aesthetic. Form and Function. Where details matter and everything, alltogether is put at service of a final user. Even tho I love Architecture after a few years on the field I felt stuck in bureaucratic processes, not really paying attention at the real user. So, it was during the pandemic work break where I evaluated what I wanted to do and decided to take a spin on my carreer and go for Digital Product and UX, where I found myself more confortable and felt like my desings matter on the short term.

02. Multidisciplinary learnings and problem framing

By having the chance to study and working in different fields I’ve had the opportunity to learn how to approach problems from different perspectives. Knowing that the best solution might not always be the academic one, I’ve learned to look at the problem not only with designer eyes, but also from the point of view of engineering, business, or as an outsider, which allows me to take solutions one step further regarding not only design but also aspects like adaptability, scalability, technlogy and product market fit.

03. Holistic understanding of the problem and nexus with developing teams

My experience as an architect has given me an overall undersanding of the problem frame inside a project. I really enjoy having an active role throughout a project’s roadmap, considering dependencies and possible constraints we might find along the way. Furthermore, delivering End-to-End products has made me run into programming logic problems, databases building or API settings and learn the value of designing everthing that is not on the screen. Far from considering myself a developer, I have matured my communication skills with the development team, allowing me to conciliate design with development requirements.

04. Communication, understanding and time management

Being a step forward person has rapidly taken me towards roles like Design Sprint Facilitator or Design Thinking Dynamics Manager, where I've worked with different stakeholder profiles, including company CEOs and investors. This has matured my flexibility and conflict resolution skills to manage whole teams and make everyone feel heard - while also taking care sessions run as planned timewise. Later on, this lead me into a UX/UI teacher role, where I’ve been guiding students’ projects and managing their workflow helping them reach the deadline with a solid solution.
